The historic city of Sudbury is located in Middlesex County in east-central Massachusetts about 20 miles west of Boston.  As of 2009, the latest census estimates place its population at approximately 17,977 residents.  This affluent community has the sixth highest income per capita ($53,285) and median family income ($128,041) in Massachusetts.  The cost of living in Sudbury is 45.05% higher than the U.S. average, though public services here are great and school expenditures are higher than the U.S. average ($7,767/student vs. $6,058/student).  Another impressive fact is that 96.81% of Sudbury residents have graduated from high school, 5.78% have graduated from 2-year colleges, 34.09% have graduated from 4-year colleges and 37.83% have graduate degrees.  Unemployment in Sudbury is also below the national mean at 3.70% and though current job growth is scant at 0.99%, projected job growth over the next ten years is 19.79%.

 

Sudbury is peaceful and scenic and has a true sense of small town charm.  The tranquility of this charming town makes it an ideal bedroom community for the greater Boston area.  It is an ideal retreat for those who enjoy the dining, entertainment, nightlife, culture and other amenities of the big city but prefer the privacy and safety of a small, close-knit community with almost no crime.
